A Look At Golf Pro Chad Wise's Career

As a junior in high school at Lincoln East, Chad Wise was offered a full-ride scholarship to play golf at the University of Nebraska.

On his way to the signing at the university, Wise was involved in a 34-car pile-up on 70th Street in Lincoln. Wise received injuries to his back and left knee. After his recovery, Wise played his senior year at Lincoln East but could not play collegiate golf after the car accident.

Eventually, Wise attended and graduated from the Professional Golf Management program at New Mexico State in 1999. While at New Mexico State, Wise played in mini-tours.

Wise worked at many courses throughout the Lincoln area and eventually settled in Denver and worked for Denver Golf-Tec. He gave golf lessons and instructions or provided information for custom club fitting.

While in Denver, the family was interested in getting back to a small-town atmosphere, and Kimball provided that atmosphere.

Ironically, he said Michael Abramson “came to me for lessons” at Golf-Tec in Denver, and then Michael had told him that the previous golf pro at Four Winds had left and an opening existed.

Wise has been the golf pro at Four Winds in Kimball for the past 16 years, but his time there appears to be nearing an end do to difference in contract negotiations.

Wise’s children Dillon and Payton played high school golf and graduated from Kimball High while Breckin is a third grader.
