Verla Sounders

Verla Souders, 93, of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, went home to be with her Lord on January 30, 2023. Cremation has been held and life celebration will be held at a later date. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to share condolences and stories with the family. The services for Verla have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Verla Louise Souders was born in Ft. Morgan, Colorado on July 27, 1929, the daughter of Emil and Elise (Borman) Harms. The family lived in Snyder, Colorado before moving to the farm south of Bushnell. She attended country school south of Bushnell through the 8th grade. Verla was married to Melvin Klawonn on March 23, 1947. To this union Lavonna, Allen, Joyce, Sherrie, and Glen were born. They farmed south of Pine Bluffs and Verla was a wife, mother and homemaker. She loved her family dearly. Following Melvin's death she was married to John Souders on April 20, 1991.

She is survived by her children Lavonna (Steve) Eastwood, Allen (Cyndi Klawonn), Joyce Farrow ( Joe Stewart), and Glen (Jill) Klawonn; grandchildren Alex Penning, Teresa Marabante, Esther Barney, Tim Klawonn, Robyn McQueen, Mindy Potter, Tracey Mosher, Ben Dwinell, Anthony Dwinell, Gen Dwinell, and Carl Klawonn; 25 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; sisters Dorothy Henke and Ruth (Charles) Baker; brother Art (Deanna) Harms.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, daughter Sherrie Lemley; son-in-law Alan Farrow; brother and sister-in-law Arlyn and Enid Harms; brother and sister-in-law Vernon and Dolores Harms; and brother-in-law Richard Henke.
