Blizzard Put A Stop To Everything, Everywhere

Banner County

Good morning! This snow storm that we were hit with this final couple of weeks in 2022 sure put a stop to everything.

I mean everything everywhere.

We were completely snowed in from Tuesday morning through Saturday afternoon. Thanks to a good and helpful neighbor, we were finally able to get out late through the pasture.

My driveway was full of snow the full length and width with drifts as high as the trees, and I have some pretty tall trees.

Thankfully again, the county came to make a path Sunday morning.

I seriously think that I have more snow from the driveway piled up than what is in all of Harrisburg. Not to mention the snow in the pasture on the west side.

Again drifts were 15, 20 feet high. Never, ever, have I had the driveway so blocked.

No surprise, but regretfully church services were cancelled at the Harrisburg Community Church on Sunday the 18th. There will still be ( weather permitting ) special services on the 24th at 6 p.m. and church services Christmas morning.

The annual Christmas Dinner in The Valley will take place Christmas Day at the Harvest Valley Church in Scottsbluff, located at 743 Winter Creek.

They will serve between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The folks in Alliance will host a Holiday Movie Matinee at the Public Library on Wednesday, December 28th. from 2-4 p.m. They will be celebrating over 100 years of Charles Schulz and Peanuts! If you need more information, please call 762-1387.

As a heads-up, the village of LaGrange will be having a Family Karaoke Night on December 30th from 6 - 10 p.m. at the LaGrange Community Building.

Needless to say there were many activities at the school that were cancelled, some rescheduled, last week.

I believe the Christmas Concert wast to be held Tuesday, December 20 and the staff Christmas party on December 21st.

At this time the Dinner Theater and One Act Play has been cancelled. Bummer.

On Thursday, December 22nd, there will be high school boys basketball at 2 p.m. with Cody-Kilgore on their site, and the elementary kids will have their Christmas party, also beginning at 2 p.m.

No school Dec. 23rd to January 2nd, 2023.

Have a very Merry Merry Christmas. Be safe. Until next time, Barb Cross.
