Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
FOOTBALL
Kimball head football coach Darrell Howitt had 37 kids attend a meeting for football next year. He said he was excited about the future and the community support was incredible.
As for this year, Howitt said, "It was great to just get the kids out on the field. We knew we were going to be behind the gun as far as things go, but to get on the field and get some experience under our belts, I am proud of the upperclassmen that stepped up and helped us be able to turn the lights on, on Friday nights."
Senior players included Trey Schindler, Justin Klosterman, James McGinnis, David Bond, and David Wills.
Only two juniors, Derek Kauffman and Brandon Paxton were on the team this year, but sophomores and freshmen stepped into the positions to gain valuable experience.
Howitt said he has a full JV schedule for next year.
They are way behind on fundamentals and weights, but they will be better when they step on the field next year.
