We're Running Out Of October

Good morning! Sure seems like we are running out of October!

Harvest and planting are well under way and I am sure the beet harvesters are thankful for the cooler weather.

There will be a Boo Bash Costume Ball at the Weborg 21 Centre, located at 2625 10th street in Gering on Friday, October 21st. The band is Loaded Dice and it is listed as an all day event.

The 34th annual Sooktacular Family Nights event will be open on the 21st and the 22nd from 5:30-8 p.m. and on the 23rd from 4- 6 p.m. Night lights and scary stuff!

Saturday morning, the 22nd. the Knights of Columbus will be hosting a breakfast buffet. Hosted by the Knights of Columbus Council #2681 at 1719 1st Avenue in Scottsbluff, they will serve from 8-11 a.m. and close the doors at noon.

You are invited to a Chic Conference on the 22nd which will be held at the Chuck Wagon Church, 522 E. Overland. The time will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch will be served and more information is available by calling 308-672-0863.

On Sunday afternoon, 1:30-3:30 p.m., the Next Young Professionals pumpkin carving event will take place at 1509 Broadway in Scottsbluff. There will be snacks, music, painting and carving, so check it out.

Up in Alliance, the Public Library will host “Youth Book Features” on the 24th at 6:30 p.m. for grades 6-12 and on the 25th at 4:30 p.m. for grades 3-6. Both sessions will last one hour.

Here at home and at the schoolhouse, fall sports pictures are to be taken – Today! – October 20th so smile pretty, or just remember to smile.

There will be NO School on Friday the 21st. However, there will be state cross country and high school volleyball at Crawford at 4 p.m. and football at 7 p.m.

High school volleyball subdistricts are to begin on the 24th. Please call 436-5262 if you need more information.

On Wednesday the 26th there will be a junior high leadership conference in Scottsbluff.
