PROJECT TIME ARRIVES AT FAIR

As a member of Sweet Stitches 4-H Club, Ember White, 8, calmly and confidently waited to meet with the judge for an evaluation and ribbon placing of the dress she sewed as her project.

Ember explained her project, saying, "It is a simple dress, so I didn't do any buttons or anything. I have worn it to make sure that the seams won't break."

After Ember's conference with the judge as the Kimball-Banner County Fair got going Monday, she explained that the judge asked her where she got her fabric, which Ember stated was at Joann's.

Ember loved the fabric and said, "When we bought it I just like said, 'This is so soft, and it will feel so good when I put it on.' "

After the clothing show, Ember will bake a triple cherry pie and do cake decorating to complete her first year of 4-H.

Ember had to wait until Tuesday to see what ribbon she will receive, but the Observer obtained some inside information: She received a blue for her participation in the fashion show.

Ember is the daughter of Annie and Tyler White.
