Warner Talks KCTS At National Conference

Christy Warner, director of the Kimball County Transit Service, represented Nebraska and the transit service at a conference in San Diego.

Warner presented at the National American Planning Association event, where she described the updated KCTS facility, expansion of the transit service in the area and partners in the growth.

KCTS provides transportation for all ages, including children before and after school, adults to and from work sites, shopping trips, medical appointments and airport trips. For senior residents. some have the opportunity to go places and remain independent.

Takeaways from Warner's presentation included:

• Think outside the box for economic development opportunities.

• Public transit plays a major role in communities, large or small.

• Develop partnerships to maximize grant opportunities.

• Create opportunities for multiple use facilities to enhance the quality of life for community residents.
