Coyotes Track Competes At Pine Bluffs, Creek Valley

The Potter-Dix Coyote Track and Field teams had a busy week, competing at the Storm Twilight Meet at Creek Valley High School on Tuesday and the Kendra Roeder Invitational at Pine Bluffs High School.

The Creek Valley Twilight Meet was rescheduled from the previous week due to high winds, and the athletes had much better conditions on Tuesday for the competition. At the end of the day, the Coyote Boy's team placed fourth with 87 points and the Coyote Girl's team placed fifth with 51 points.

Potter-Dix's boy's team was led by senior Thomas Muldoon's win in the 800 Meters at 2:06.52 and junior Alex Anton's win in the Pole Vault, clearing 9' 6". Junior Luke Kasten took second place in the 100 Meters and 200 Meters and third in the Long Jump, while sophomore Brayden Kasten placed second in the 1600 Meters. Senior Jared Anton placed second in the Shot Put and senior Niko Koon placed second in the Discus.

For Potter-Dix's Girl's team, junior Kallie Crossman won the 100 Meters with a time of 13.73 and placed second in the Pole Vault. The 4X100 Meter Relay team (Kallie Crossman, Lily Tabor, Jayden Shoemaker, Madison Williamson) placed third.

Potter-Dix then traveled across the border to Wyoming on Friday to compete in the Kendra Roeder Invitational (formerly the Pine Bluffs Invitational). The weather cooperated nicely with occasional refreshing breezes to cool off the competitors. Potter-Dix ended the day with the boy's squad placing eighth with 42 points and the girls also placing eighth, with 19.5 points.

Outstanding performances for the boys included Potter-Dix senior Thomas Muldoon winning the 800 Meters by a wide margin with a time of 2:05.71, and Muldoon also placed third in the High Jump. In the Sprint Medley Relay, the Potter-Dix team (Luke Kasten, Alex Anton, Thomas Muldoon, Brayden Kasten) placed third. For the girls, junior Jayden Shoemaker had the best showing with a third place finish in the 3200 Meters.

Potter-Dix was scheduled to compete at the Best in the West Classic in Scottsbluff on Tuesday, April 26 and then at the MAC Conference Meet in Bayard on Saturday, April 30.
