Two Banner County officials and one Banner County employee pleaded “no contest” Monday to an amended charge of “attempt of a Class 2 misdemeanor.”

All three were found guilty of the charge and sentencing will occur in May for the individuals.

The additional charge of drinking on public property or roads, which is a Class 4 misdemeanor, was dropped/dismissed. Each of the three was represented by separate counsel.

The charges against Banner County Treasurer Monty Stoddard, County Assessor Bernice Huffman and county employee Caily Reece stemmed from an incident at the Banner County Courthouse on Dec. 28. The original charges were public indecency and drinking on public property or road.
