Good morning, I am hoping this finds you all well and getting through another week. hard to believe that February is almost over.

For the most part of the month, today through the 26th the students involved in the Theatre Department at Chadron State College will present the play "Crime of the Heart." Appropriate for this month, right? They will perform at 7 p.m. the 17th through 19th, the 25th and 26th. A 2 p.m. performance will be on the 20th. Free tickets may be reserved at http://www.esc.edu/theatre and all performances will be in the Black Box Theatre.

As of today, February 17th, subdistrict competition for the Wildcat girls basketball team begins while the Wildcat boys basketball team competition will start be on the 21st and 22nd. Call 436-5262 for time and location.

Banner County School wrestler Wyatt Reichenberg qualified to participate in the state wrestling competition on 17th through 19th. Call 436-5262 for time and location.

The Scottsbluff Library Board Game Club meets every third Saturday of the month. You are invited! All ages are welcome and you can stay for a few minutes or from noon to 4:30 p.m.

The Winter Farmers Market will be open on Saturday the 19th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Legacy of the Plains Museum in Gering.

If you have the urge for a little excitement , Saturday the 19th begins this year's season of racing fun out at the HiWay 92 Racetrack. More information may be found at http://www.highway92raceway.com. Featured groups are the Minions (my favorite ), Warriors, Farm Trucks, Limited Late Models, and Vintage. Dress warm; it may be a little bit on the cool side.

Also on the 19th, the Banner County Speech Team will travel to Hemingford and then participate in MAC competition at CreekValley on the 23rd. Good luck and safe travel to all of you.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday the 18th, so enjoy your day off teachers and staff. There also will be NO SCHOOL on the 21st for students, so enjoy your 4 day weekend!

That is also Presidents Day, so many government offices will be closed.
