Lady Longhorns Avenge Loss To PC

Chase County 55,

Kimball 21

SPVA First Round

Our girls had an eventful week.

We played Chase County the beginning of the week and the score did not reflect the level of play we showed. Our girls learned a new defense five minutes prior to the start of the game and executed it very well. They played hard until the end, and were very proud of their efforts.

Kimball statistics:

Amy Birkhofer 6 pts, 7 reb.

Maddi Merryfield 6 pts, 3 reb.

Katie Heeg 5 pts, 2 reb, 3 stl.

Chantel Malson 2 pts, 7 reb.

Grace Anderson 2 pts, 3 reb.

Payton Wise 3 reb.

Sarinda Bateman 1 reb.

SPVA Second Round SPVA

My posts showed up big in this game. Chantel, Amy and Payton played very well. They made their presence in the paint mean something and they worked hard. Everyone came together to get this win and it really was a team effort.

Chantel Malson 10 pts 3 reb

Emma Patterson 1 pt

Payton Wise 7 pts, 14 reb

Maddi Merryfield 7 pts 4 reb

Katie Heeg 8 pts 4 reb

Amy Birkhofer 7 pts 13 reb

Another game where we really learned from our mistakes. We lost to PC earlier in the season by 30. Our girls really stepped up their games and played with composure and aggressiveness. We had Amy and Payton both with a double-double and Chantel close to one.

We discussed that this game would be won on the boards and they really showed up. Katie Heeg was an aggressive presence both on offense and defense pulling in 9 rebounds herself. I am extremely proud of this win and the 40 point turnaround just shows the growth we have had over the season.

Kimball statistics:

Chantel Malson 7 pts 10 reb

Payton Wise 12 pts 10 reb

Maddi Merryfield 4 pts 1 reb

Katie Heeg 8 pts 9 reb

Amy Birkhofer 10pts 10 reb

Emma Patterson 1 reb
