James McGinnis, standing on the podium with his first place medal, is putting together a nice season for the competitive Longhorns mat men.
The Kimball Longhorns wrestling team will begin its second semester schedule on Saturday, Jan. 8, at the Garden County invite.
"We really challenged our guys coming back from the Christmas break to up their intensity in practice," coach Cory McManigal said. "We are five weeks out from our postseason, so we want to be wrestling our best when we get to conference and districts.
"They responded to our challenge with the best week of practice we have had since the season started which is testament to what our guys want to achieve in the next few weeks"
