Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Kimball Community Concerts Return !

The Kimball Community Concerts are back after a year-long absence due to COVID-19. The concerts will start Sept. 18 with Presidio Brass – a combination of a brass quintet, piano and vocals. Their unique sound is captivating audiences throughout the United States.

This season of concerts will include five performances.

The community concert series began in 1975 when Kimball residents decided they needed entertainment.

Community concerts are a real bargain in today’s world as you can stay in Kimball and still see topic-notch entertainment for $40 per person, including all five performances. The price of a student membership is $15, and a family membership is $90. Kimball is fortunate to have business sponsorships to help offset the cost of the community. In addition, the Kimball Community Concert Association received a grant from Nebraska Arts Council.

Other performers for the 2021-22 season are David Shannon on Oct. 14. Shannon is a native of Ireland with 25 years of experience singing professionally, and he has experience on Broadway.

The New Odyssey Guy on Nov. 18 is a one-man show with a variety of instruments, sure to entertain and make you laugh.

The two final performances for the season will occur in March and April 2022. The Chipper Experience is a one-man comedic show, while the final event is a five-man classical crossover vocal ensemble Veritas, which does everything from gospel and opera to rock, pop and Broadway.
