Things Pretty Slow, But We're On The Go

Good morning Banner County, friends near and far! Well summer has arrived hot and hot! A little rain and just like that everything is green! I hope you all are loving it.

Here at home things are moving in the fields and pretty slow, but on the go always it seems.

The regular school board meeting is to be Monday, June 14th in the school cafeteria at 7:30 p.m.

Birthdays here this week include: Whitney Harper, Kaylea Stoddard, Chris Kling, Brian Browne, Robin Darnall, Brock Elsen, Keagan Marie Adrian, Monty Stoddard, Kohl Krakow, Jack Cochran, and Beth Baker. Happy Happy Birthday!

Anniversary congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Roger Morris, Martin Olsen, Ken Krakow, Gary Darnall, and Richard Parker.

The Harrisburg Community Church will be having a pot-luck lunch immediately after services Sunday, June 13th. You all are invited.

Over the hill and in surrounding areas there will be a “King of The Streets Car Show and Street Race” in Lyman on Friday the 11th at 9 a.m. for meet & greet, and the races will begin on Saturday at 5 p.m.

The Midwest Theater will begin the Free summer series movies on Thursday, June 10th, with “Trolls World Tour” at 1:30 p.m. The theater’s website lists future movies in the free series and also movies and events that require tickets at the theater and Skyview Drive-in.

The Summer Farmer’s Market will be held each Saturday at the 18th street corner in Scottsbluff from 8-11 a.m.

The YMCA indoor pool and the Trails West pool are to re-open Monday June 14th for your cooling off pleasure.

On the 11th & 12th, the Chadron State Park will be hosting a 100th Celebration with food, drinks, live entertainment and a laser light show on Friday, and on Saturday there will be various fun runs, car and stage coach shows and the grand opening of their new shooting gallery, plus more.

On June 12th in Scottsbluff, the EAA Chapter 608 Western Nebraska Regional Airport Appreciation Days will take place from 7 a.m. to noon. There will be food, the Young Eagles flights and more, all at the airport of course!

That same evening on the 12th, the annual Ranch Rodeo will be taking place in Kimball at the Kimball/Banner fairgrounds. The action will begin at 5:30 p.m.

On Sunday, June 13th, in Terrytown there will be something fishy going on as they host Community Fishing Night in collusion with Nebraska Game & Parks. This will take place at Terry’s Lake between 4-6 p.m. We are told to look for the Family Fishing Trailer.
