Now these are some winning smiles. Representing Longhorn Nation at the state track and field meet will be, from left, Katie Heeg, Christian Allen-Van Pelt and Raven Johnson.
Kimball's Longhorn track and field team competed at the C-9 District Meet in Sutherland on Thursday, May 13, and qualified three athletes to compete at the State Meet in Omaha this Friday and Saturday.
For the girls, junior Kaitlin Heeg qualified for two events at State.
Heeg won the triple jump with a personal best distance of 33 feet, 6.5 inches, and she placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 16.76 seconds.
Senior Raven Johnson also shined for the Longhorn girls. She cleared 9 feet, 4 inches, in the pole vault, a personal best and good enough for second place...
