LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Recall Petitioners Should Be Commended

Dear Editor:

Facts – From Kim Baliman.

Maggie Laughlin is a grown woman with a family. She has not lived at home for 15 years. Her actions are her own. So many have asked, tried, or wanted to do this but for fear of ramifications from the mayor have had to back out. These young ladies are strong and passionate. They should be commended for taking this to the voters. This took courage and they were strong enough to sign the forms – not submit an unsigned hate ad to the paper.

It will be a tough sell as many are scared to sign for fear of losing their jobs or negative actions. This is America and this is a right we all have. Is this the ideal situation – NO but this is their right as it is of any voter.

This is not about me – Kim Baliman. This is absolutely about community. Our future without a hidden agenda and favoritism. The mayor has extraordinarily little power in the long run.

I am not sure how a 3 word (I believe ) statement on Facebook last summer saying “go team Carson” could be called support or favoritism. I support everyone – I applaud anyone who wants to better themselves or their community.

Why would one need to silence the citizens unless there is something to hide? People have been talking about this for months. I take my community service very seriously. I have lost faith in some, but I will never lose my passion to serve and make Kimball the best it can be.

As to the Administrator Job – we need one NOW – we need someone to take the reins and right the ship. That person is out there – Kimball Deserves the Best. Community service is hard, but I will do my best to serve the citizens as long as this is what they choose. Thank you!!

With respect,

Kim Baliman

Kimball City Council member
