Gabriel Teeple, Banner County School's spelling bee champion for three years, competes virtually March 12 in the state spelling bee from a room in the Harrisburg school. The seventh-grader, son of Caroline and Jake Teeple, was focused and represented Banner well in the event, known as the Midwest Spelling Bee. The winner, eighth-grader Hannah Fernandes of Bellevue, will compete July 8 at The Scripps National Spelling Bee in Orlando, Fla.
