It's Time To Watch The Flowers Grow-Banner County

Well good morning Banner County, friends and neighbors! Much better looking out this window this week. We still have snow but the the extreme cold has moved on and early Monday morning the March winds were helping to finish off the month of February.

Did that month seem to fly for anyone but me? Can’t say that I am sorry since I am ready for spring! Ready to say “Goodbye winter, so long snow, it’s time to watch the flowers grow!”

We are not quite there, but getting closer. The Westco Storm baseball tryouts will take place February 26-28th and you need to call 308-765-8418 for times and places.

The winter market will be on Saturday the 27th of February at the Monument Mall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Banner County speech team will also be competing during the WTC speech meets in Scottsbluff on the 27th. On Monday March 1st the high school junior varsity boys basketball team will compete at the Potter-Dix tournament and again the following day if all goes well. For game time please call the school at 436-5262.

On Wednesday March 3rd beginning at 9 a.m. the FFA students will compete during the District CDE’s at Gordon and the junior high boys basketball team will play at Creek Valley at 1 p.m. Safe travel and good luck to all of you.

Here is a heads-up. School will be dismissed at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 4th for parent-teacher conferences and there will be No school on the following Friday.

Birthdays here this week include: Roger McGowan III, Benjamin McGowan II, Shawn Fulk, Robin Parsons, Tina McKeehan, Keaton Fisher, Reanae Parker, Jerren Yazdgerdi, Riley Smith, Wyatt Reichenberg, Kage Mosby, Camden Knaub, and Comron Yazderdi. Happy Happy Birthday!
