Edythe Mae Schwindt

Edythe Mae (Minaker) Schwindt, 91, of Kearney, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Good Samaritan Society – St. Luke's in Kearney and will be sadly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Ferndale, Washington, where she will be laid to rest with her parents and husband. Memorials are suggested to the First English Lutheran Church in Kimball, NE. Online condolences may be submitted by visiting http://www.hlmkfuneral.com. She was born on December 16, 1929, in Sumas, Washington, to Ellis and Nellie (Chapman) Minaker. On July 19, 1950, she married the love of her life, Philip Eugene Schwindt, Jr. They met in San Francisco, CA, and lived many places throughout California, Washington, Virginia, Louisiana, and eventually retired in Kimball, NE. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Kimball for many years. Edythe loved to cook and she leaves behind many wonderful recipes for her family to enjoy.

Edythe was, most importantly, a loving wife and mother to their three children Michael (Suzanne) Schwindt, Ft. Worth, TX, Craig (Marie) Schwindt, Virginia Beach, VA, and Lori (Kevin) Roach, Kearney, NE. Grandchildren Shaun (Becky) Schwindt, Bryan (Bianca) Schwindt, Jessica (Jon) Sherman, Brandon Schwindt, Joslin Roach (Drew Roberts), McKenzie Roach, Garrett Schwindt (Madison Gregory), Abbey (Juan) Ospina, and 13 great grandchildren. She leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
