Add Love, Subtract Hate

Banner County

Good morning, and what a cold one it is! While we have, it is nothing compared to some areas surrounding us. Just the cold.

The kids up here at the school will be doing a little traveling in it, too.

Today, Thursday February 11th, the junior high basketball boys MAC tournament gets under way at Creek Valley and will continue on Saturday the 13th if they qualify.

Also on the 11th the elementary kids will be having Valentine’s parties, which will begin at 3 p.m. The real parties will begin on Friday the 12th because there is NO School! No school on Monday the 15th either so quite a nice break. Yeah!

Of course, city offices will be closed on Monday, and probably many banks. Presidents Day.

Also on the 13th, the high school wrestling team will begin district matches at Sutherland. Good luck and safe travel to all of you.

Over the hill and to the north, the Midwest Theater will be hosting “Mardi Gras Mambo Live“ at the Skyview Drive-In. The gates will open at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 6:30 p.m. They will be featuring Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience. If you would like more information please call 632-4311.

Earlier in the day, Saturday, February 13th the winters farmers market will be held at the Monument Mall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Birthdays this week include: Mary Carter, Shelly Muggli, Amanda Godfrey, Kerry Baker, Jalanna Krakow, and Brittany Macias. Happy Happy Birthday!

Anniversary congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Tom Neal.

Since Valentine’s Day is this week I leave this thought with you:

“To solve the human equation, we need to add love, subtract hate, multiply good, and divide between truth and error.” – Janet Coleman.

With that I will wish you a great week, and stay safe until next time!
