Kimball Junior High Wrestling Held With Restrictions
November 19, 2020
Smith said that due to the COVID-19 situation, none of the Wyoming schools who usually attend, and at least four more Nebraska schools, did not attend because of the same reason. It ended up with 7 schools and a total of 85 wrestlers competing.
"This is about half of our usual participation," Smith said.
I was able to snap some pictures to share with you readers but due to deadlines, the individual results were not available in time for this week. But we will try and include them in next week's Observer sports.
The Kimball wrestlers are to wrestle at Morrill this Friday (Nov. 20) and at Grant on Tuesday (Nov. 24)
Hey, Nebraska won a football game, and coach Frost gave Luke McCaffrey a start at quarterback, and the talented redshirt freshman came through helping his team to a 30-23 win over Penn State!
Now let's keep it going with a win this week over visiting Illinois.
Junior High Girls Basketball
Not much to report on the local scene as the Kimball Junior High girls' basketball team has not played a game yet even though they have missed three scheduled games because of lack of numbers due to quarantines and sickness. Kimball is to host Ogallala today (Thursday) at 4 p.m. and it looks like this game should go on as scheduled.
Winter Sports Practice
Winter Sports practice got underway for Nebraska High Schools this past Monday, which includes wrestling, plus boys and girls basketball.
Kimball High opens the season in both sports the weekend of December 3-4.
