Elizabeth A. Shandera, 88, of Kimball, died at Kimball Health Services on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kimball with Father Mike McDermott officiating.
Inurnment will be held in the Kimball Cemetery. Christian Wake Service will be held at the Cantrell Funeral Home on Friday at 5:00 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. to sign the register book and leave condolences for the family.

Memorials may be given to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Plains Historical Society and Kimball Friendship Center. The services for Elizabeth have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Elizabeth Ann Shandera was born in Kimball on January 15, 1932, the daughter of Francis and Mildred (Gross) Janesofsky. She lived in Egbert and graduated in 1950. Liz married Donald Shandera on November 22, 1950. The family farmed northwest of Bushnell, retired in 1997 and moved to Kimball.
Elizabeth had many hobbies. She especially enjoyed quilting and gardening. She also enjoyed going on cruises and traveling with her family. She loved her family and always enjoyed going to various events to watch her grandchildren. She was a particularly good baker, and was known for her cinnamon rolls, homemade bread & dinner rolls and delicious pies. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her son Gary (Julie) Shandera of Pine Bluffs, WY; daughters Donna Woitaszewski of Cheyenne, WY, Diana (Larry) Engstrom of Kimball, NE, Carol (Dennis) Lukassen of Kimball, NE, Connie Colton of Bismarck, ND, and Geri (Jay) Parsons of Lincoln, NE; brother Frank (Helen) Janesofsky of Oregon; sisters Lois (Melvin) Fornstrom of Pine Bluffs, WY, and Mary Catherine Joska of Kimball, NE; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Charlotte VanMeter.
