DOWNTOWN KIMBALL'S NEWEST JEWEL

The Sept. 24 grand opening of Kimball Transit Service's gleaming regional headquarters building in downtown Kimball drew quite a crowd of dozens of visitors and dignitaries for the ribbon cutting, above, and a day of festivities.

KCTS administrator Christy Warner, at center in the white shirt, and county Commissioner Larry Engstrom, in the blue and white plaid shirt, were among those delighted that the facility, funded mainly with government grant money, was a reality.

Engstrom credited Warner for championing the building project.

He said he once "was not really in favor of" the endeavor, but now is thankful of Warner for "having the vision and pushing it forward."
