Lots To Chew On For Kimball City Council

Administrator Job, Gotte Upgrades And Development All Discussed

Kimball City Council members had a full agenda to tend to in their July 21 meeting.

The Economic Development Grant guidelines continue to be discussed and updated, but businesses are rapidly using the LB 840 money. Receiving Business Facade Improvement and Infrastructure Grants were Chute 7, High Point RV and Sin Easy. The work varied from signs, painting and updating a hot water heater and pipes.

Meanwile, the city administrator position has been re-advertised in the hopes of gaining more applicants. The timeline for choosing an administrator is mid-August.

The city council also approved and ratified all the previous meetings that were held pursuant to Gov. Rickett’s executive orders, meaning those held by video conferencing or telephone during the shutdown.

The council approved repairs to the power plant, Radiator #6 and the mayor appointed and the council approved appointments to the Community Redevelopment Authority, including Dave Haack, Jamie Murdoch, Jordan Autrey, Christy Warner and Jerry Brown.

The minutes, claims and financial statements were approved under the consent agenda.

Under the mayor’s report, updates are currently being done on Gotte Park. A veterans wall is being built as well as a pickle ball court and improvements are taking place on the basketball courts.

The next regular meeting for the Kimball City Council is August 18 at 6 p.m.
