June D. Garrett, 81, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions at the time, family graveside services were held.

Memorial Services for June will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kimball with Pastor Kenneth Mars officiating. Friends may stop at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. to sign the register book and leave condolences for the family. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view June's Tribute Wall and leave messages of sympathy and stories for the family. Memorials may be given in her memory to either St. John's Lutheran Church, Kimball Hospital Foundation or the Kimball County Manor Resident Fund. The services for June have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

June Darlene Garrett was born in Tillamook, Oregon on June 24, 1938, the daughter of John and Edna (Ellerbroek) Koster. She moved at an early age with her family to Platte, South Dakota where June received her education. She worked with her family on the family farm. June was married to Edward L Garrett in Platte, South Dakota on July 29, 1955. They lived in Briggsdale, Colorado for a short time before moving to Kimball and living in the house where Ed was raised. June worked various jobs in Kimball.

She retired in 2011 from the Kimball Hospital after serving many years as a CNA. She enjoyed growing flowers and working in her yard. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also loved going camping when her children were still at home. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was confirmed on March 14, 1965.

Survivors include her children Debbie (Terry) Bourlier of Kimball, NE., Kelly (Nancy) Garrett also of Kimball, NE., and Dode (Dallen) Juelfs of Lincoln, NE: brother Deane (Linda) Koster of Wahoo, NE; sisters Marilyn (Tom) Tatum of Platte, SD and Bonnie Tatum of Winner, SD; grandchildren Ryan (Ruth) Bourlier, Mallory (Chris) Lantzer, Tyler (Angie) Garrett, Stacy (Ryan) Burback, Ross Juelfs and girlfriend Megan Beach, Danni (Brad) Wilmetti and RaeLynn Juelfs; 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Les Koster and Marvin Koster.
