William H. Russell Jr., 84, of Kimball, died at his home in Kimball on Sunday, March 22, 2020. Following Bill's wishes, cremation has been held and no services is scheduled at this time. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view the obituary and leave condolences and stories for the family. Memorials may be given to the Kimball County Manor Employee Fund. The services for Bill have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
William Howard Russell was born in Washington D.C. on February 12, 1936, the son of William Sr. and Ethel (Travis) Russell. He lived and attended school in several places while his father was in the military.
Bill enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1956 and served most of his enlistment in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1959. He worked for General Dynamics and the Boeing Corporation over the next 30 years at many location throughout the States. He retired from Boeing in 1991.
Bill moved to Kimball and met Alberta Marshall, the love of his life, in 1974 while applying for his driver's license. They were married in Reno, Nevada, in 1985. After retiring in 1991, they moved to Delta, Colorado, and enjoyed living there. They moved back to Kimball in 1994 to be closer to family. He loved his dogs and enjoyed collecting pot holders, toy cars and Mr. Planter souvenirs.
Survivors include his daughter, Marie (Art) McEntee of Garden City, Kansas, 2 grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alberta and one sister
