Superintendent Contract OK'd; Absence Of Farrar Felt

The Kimball school board unanimously approved a contract for the next Kimball Public Schools superintendent on Wednesday, Feb. 19, in a special board meeting.

The 5-0 vote of approval for Trevor Anderson’s contract took 5 minutes to conduct. The meeting had only this one agenda item. Board member Lynn Vogel was absent but excused.

Meanwhile, current Superintendent Elizabeth Owens explained how the district is dealing with the sudden hospitalization of KPS business manager Harold Farrar.

“We are trying to keep going with some part-time help,” she said.

Jan Barp, who previously held the business manager position, said she is helping get the school district through this rough time. The district doesn’t expect Farrar, who has been hospitalized much of February, to return for several weeks.

According to Owens, Farrar remains in intensive care at Swedish Medical Center in the Denver area. She said his condition is serious but a full recovery is expected.
