Community Basketball & Supper Set In Banner

Good morning Banner County, friends near and far.

This past week many folks celebrated Valentines Day, 4-H had beef weigh-in, and most schools had a day (or two) off for Presidents Day.

Pretty busy weekend. This up coming week however seems a lot less so. Tomorrow, Friday, February 21st, school will be in session here in Harrisburg and there will be a Community Basketball and supper that evening. I believe the game play will begin at 6 p.m. with supper served prior. To verify times call the school at 436-5262.

February 23-29 is FFA week and I haven’t heard of what all is going on, but usually they have quite an interesting week. There may be a few non-exotic animals in the shop at one time or another.

There will be no school for students on Wednesday February 26th because Banner County will host the MAC speech contest.

Birthdays this week are: John Jones, Jackson Muggli, Robert Adrian, John Adrian, Floyd Hein,Jr.,Mycalla Jones,Gabe Olsen,Shawn Fulk, Robin Parsons ,Benjamin McGowan II and Roger McGowan III. Happy Happy Birthday to you!

Anniversary couple of the week is Mr. & Mrs. Corey Lind – congratulations.  And as Bugs Bunny or maybe it was Porky Pig … would say, that’s all folks! Not much more info for elsewhere either.

The Goodhand Theatre in Kimball will show the movie “Ford v Ferrari” (I’m a Ford gal myself ) at 7 p.m. on February 21 & 22 and as a matinee on Sunday the 23rd at 2 p.m.

Up north, WNCC will host “ A Work In Progress” Job Fair event to prepare those planning to attend the up coming Job Fair. This will take place February 26-28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day and will teach interview techniques, cover letter and resume critiques plus ideas and suggestions on how to better navigate the job market. Future prospective employees might well benefit from a couple of hours spent there.

That is about it. I was not kidding.

Slow week. Except for a Heads-Up. The popular Polar Plunge will be taking place on Saturday, February 29th at 10:30 a.m. at the YMCA Camp in Scottsbluff. I will not be there. But for those of you who will be, stay warm.

Have a great week and take care until next time.
