Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Busy Days On The Sports Calendar

A busy weekend was held this past week for the Kimball high athletic program with Kimball hosting Sutherland Friday evening for basketball with the girls winning big and the boys losing in an exciting contest that Sutherland won on a last second long 3 point field goal making the final score read 43-42.

Games can be won at the foul line ... and they can certainly be lost at the foul line. Such was the case Friday night as the Kimball boys had a bad night in this category. See the complete story.

It was also a night where Stephen Bateman and Joseph Burris and their parents were honored as senior night for the two Kimball High Wrestlers, and the 5th-6th grade put on a basketball dribble performance complete with music that was entertaining.

Thank You

This Old Man wants to thank everyone who was so kind to wish me Happy Birthday as it seemed like everyone knew it was my day once again. Thanks to my daughter and son for letting people know on Facebook and I got so many special greetings on this social media that I can hardly negotiate.

And then, following the girls basketball win, here came Coach Chauncey Pedersen and all the girls to sing Happy Birthday to me, and came bounding up the bleacher steps to shake my hand and wish me Happy Birthday. It was special and a Great memory I will hold as long as I can. Thank you everyone!
