Club Interact Doing Its Thing To Help Kimball

This year's Kimball High School Interact Club is on its way to another of year of helping the club help the community in so many ways.

Club projects ad actitives include:

• Organizing and helping with the annual food drive to restock the local food pantry before the holidays.

• Helping Kimball Rotary with the Holiday Food Basket Program (supplying a ham and other food items to over 60 families in Kimball County for a holiday style meal at Christmas.

• The Purple Pinky Fundraiser – All money raised goes towards the eradication of polio around the world.

• Three scholarships for senior participants who apply, meet the requirements, and are selected by the honors committee.

• Other miscellaneous projects and donations.

This year's club officers are Xavier Thomas-Lewis (director), Carli Wurdeman (president), Beau Hanks (treasurer), Thomas Muldon (director), Raven Johnson (secretary), and Alexander Flores (vice president).

Kimball High School started an Interact Club in January 2012 and is now in the 9th year as an organization. Interact comes from combining the words "International" and "Action" and is sponsored by the local Rotary Club of Kimball.

It is a service organization where the student members participate in at least one local service project, one school project, and one international project annually.

The members meet two times per month and at this time the club has over 20 student members.

The club raises money by selling concession at home junior high sporting events and the money goes towards three scholarships and various service projects.
