A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood

Good morning on a beautiful day in the neighborhood! No wind, no snow, no complaints!

A few events in the valley this week. Beginning tomorrow, Friday January 17, there will be another Farm Bill Education meeting out at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center in Scottsbluff. This is Free and open to the public and for more information please call your local FSA.

The Winter Market will be open at 1400 E. 20th Street in Scottsbluff on Saturday the 18th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Locally produced honey is only one of the many items ready for you.

On Tuesday, January 21, there will be a “Basic Prescribed Fire Workshop” held out at the North Platte Natural Resource District from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information and preregistration, please call 308-765-9384 or 308-850-8395.

Closer to home, tomorrow January 17, the high school wrestlers will be competing at New Castle, Wyoming. Mat time is 9:30 a.m. I lived much closer to New Castle years ago than what I do now, never dreaming that the Wildcats would be traveling that far for competition.

On Saturday, the speech team will be traveling to Gering – much closer!

And on Monday, the underclassmen honor band will be competing in Kearney. On Wednesday, January 22, we will stay home as the junior high boys basketball team play Garden County at 2 p.m. Safe travel and good luck to all of you.

Birthdays this week include: Haddie Grubbs, Savannah Jordan, Wilma Post, Witni Boetcher, Barb Cross, Riley Jones and Jonathan Muggli. Happy Happy Birthday!  Anniversary congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Travis Cochran.

News is short and sweet this week. Take care until next time.

Barb Cross is at 436-7152.
