Helen Joan Johnson

Helen Joan Johnson, daughter of the late Alex and Elizabeth, (Engstrom) Christiansen of Kimball, passed away on January 6 near her home in Butte, Montana. She would have been 85 years old on February 1.

Joan was a 1953 graduate of Kimball County High School. She later attended the University of Nebraska/Lincoln, and taught in the Kimball and other area Public Schools.

She married Marvin Johnson in Kimball in 1960, and later moved with her family to Butte.

Joana is survived by Sons Mike of Butte (wife Deanna, son Logan), and Steven of Elizabeth, CO (wife Christy, daughter Emilee, son Ryan).

In addition to her parents, Joan was pre-deceased by her Sister Mary Jean Good of Lincoln; Brother Jim of Kimball; and Niece Stacy of Kimball.

Other survivors include Sister-In-Law Lea Anne Christiansen of Kimball; Brother-In-Law Conrad Good; Nephews Conrad Jr. and Barry; and Nieces Lisa and Laurie Good, all of Lincoln; Nephews Tom and Gary Christiansen of Green River, (WY) and Seattle; Cousins Larry Engstrom and Linda (Gunderson) of Kimball; Cousin Carl Engstrom of Lincoln; Cousins Carla and Eric Engstrom of Lincoln; Cousin Kurt Engstrom of Seattle; and extended family members.

Local services are being held in Butte on Friday, January 10, at the Gloria Dei Church.
