Jamboree Hoops Next Week For Kimball Basketball Teams

Are you ready for some basketball? Are you ready for some wrestling?

You winter sports fans better be ready because it gets rolling this coming week starting with some basketball play at Dalton on Monday, Dec. 2, with the Kimball High girls and boys on the road for a Jamboree game. The Jamboree title means this is an exhibition, warmup type game and does not count on either team’s season win-loss record.

Girls game time is 5 p.m. and the boys game follows at around 6:30.

The regular season play begins Dec. 5 for the Longhorn wrestlers as they host Bayard, and the Longhorn basketball season will begin Dec 6/7 with Kimball hosting its 4-team tournament that will once again involve Dundy County, Morrill and Potter-Dix along with the hosting Longhorns with divisions for both girls and boys.

Junior High

Sports

The junior high action has been ongoing through November and will continue in December.

On Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Kimball junior high wrestlers are at Bayard and the girls basketball teams are home hosting Morrill with game time at 3 p.m.

The girls are at Sidney Dec. 5 with tip time at 4 p.m.

Winter Sports,

Winter Storms

As I sit here writing, I am hearing all the reports of an expected winter snow storm fast approaching our Western Nebraska area, and I am sure it may bring about some school cancellations and some junior high athletic events that were scheduled for earlier this week.

Makes me wonder how much of this stuff we are going to face all winter as it starts off so early?

I also know that Scottsbluff had to cancel some of the scheduled bus loads they were planning for their band, prep club, etc., to follow their football team to the state championship game that was set for this past Monday evening in Lincoln.

I know I am planning to watch the Bearcats on TV as they go up against Omaha Skutt. Hope the Cats can get the job done and wrap up an awesome season!

Turkey

Day

Thanksgiving break is on for students with no school now until Monday. Hope you all enjoy Thanksgiving and if you are travelling, I hope your roads are clear and safe, and I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!
