Hunters Finding Deer Population Plentiful In Panhandle

This duo with a pair of nice mule deer bucks are Sean McNulty of Sidney and Kyle Nunn of Kearney. They are both former Kimball high student/athletes who enjoy coming home for deer season.
The 2019 Nebraska Firearm Deer Season opened up this past weekend and area hunters were finding the deer population plentiful as they filled their permits.
Lisa Wangler at Sportsman's Liquor Store has been providing her establishment as a check-in site for many years and was busy once again this year helping to check in deer.
As of early Monday morning, she had already checked in 134 deer from both local hunters and many from outside the area – including out-of-state hunters who journeyed to Western Nebraska to fill their licenses.
