Kimball Public Library Book Sale A Big Hit On Farmer's Day

The Friends of the Kimball Library Book Sale was very popular this year and many, many books and puzzles went out the door. Thank you all who came and purchased books. Book sales are appreciated by the public and also help the library by clearing out books and making money for the Friends to fund the library for extra programing and supplies and the annual swimming pool party.

The Teen Library Advisory Board held a bake sale and the baked items flew out the door. They planned to have the sale outside on the lawn, but obviously the weather wasn't cooperative.

The special art show and Mary Hunt were a hit. She does fantastic work and her research into Native American history and wildlife (especially birds) shows in the details.

The library is sponsoring a Paint Pouring workshop with Mary Hunt on Saturday, November 2, 2019, 9:30 – 12:30. There are a few spots left in the class, but if we have more than 15, another class will be scheduled in the afternoon.

Mrs. Hunt will bring all of the supplies and teach different techniques of paint pouring. There is a fee. Sign up at the library with the fee to hold your spot. This is a fun, fun project for adults and children over 12.

The newly formed Teen Book Club met on Thursday evening to discuss "The Giver." They were enthusiastic and ready for a new book. There is plenty of room for more teens.

Their mother's final will requires them to travel by horse and canoe along the river to understand why their maternal grandfather homesteaded the ranch. Their travels aren't smooth and the river becomes its own character.

This book is the untold story of those who survived the Great American Dust Bowl, following a dozen families and their communities dealing with the hardships and death.

The teen book club is October 24, 2019 at 5:30 pm. Book to be determined.

We will be closed on October 14 for Columbus Day.
