Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Busy Weekend For Longhorn Sports

A busy weekend for the Kimball High Sports teams and their fans.

It starts out on Friday with the Kimball Invitational Cross Country Meet being held at the Four Winds Golf Course with a 12 noon start time for the junior high runners followed by the high school races. Fans are urged to come out and cheer on the runners.

Actually, there is volleyball this evening (Thursday) with Kimball traveling to Potter-Dix for a triangular with Mitchell as the third team and play time begins at 4 p.m.

Then on Saturday, September 14, the Kimball girls are at the Gordon/Rushville Tournament, which is both JV and Varsity and is an all day type affair.

You football fans better gas up your cars for a long trip this Friday night as Kimball plays Southwest located at Bartley, which is way east by Cambridge. Mr. Mo Hanks informs me that it is a 4 hour drive.

The Kimball High girls golf team will play next at the Mitchell Tournament today (Thursday), September 12, and then on Tuesday, September 17, they play at Gering.

Dillon Wise

McCook Update

Good news to pass your way concerning Kimball’s Dillon Wise, who is playing golf at McCook Community College.

At the Torrington Tournament this past week, Dillon had two good days shooting rounds of 75-78=153, which gave him 8th place. He shot the third best score for his team as two team mates had rounds of 150 and 152. Keep up the good play, Mr. Dillon.
