Della Mae Mader

Della Mae Mader was born in Kimball, NE, June 19, 1934, to John and Helen Adels. She attended high school in Limon, NE, graduating in 1952. After graduation, she moved back to Kimball.

Della Mae worked at the Kimball County Hospital when it was newly built. She worked for numerous doctors in Kimball (Dr. Core). It is said that is where she met the love of her life, Jim Mader, when he came in for stitches. She married James W. Mader in 1955 and they remained married for 40 years until his death in 1995.

Once married, she traveled with her husband in the oil fields of Farmington NM, OK, KS, Casper WY, and Ft. Morgan CO before settling back in Kimball. She was employed for several years by Nebraska Soil Conservation, Panhandle Insurance for 26 years with Al Peitsch, and Stanco Petroleum with Stan Julefs.

In her retirement years, Della Mae enjoyed working for Wolfe Automotive part-time. In 2012, Della Mae moved with her youngest daughter, Jodie and husband John Kinney to Collinsville, OK, to be closer to her grandson, Ryan his wife Alisha and their three children. She enjoyed gardening, and later at the age of 83 enjoyed discovering technology (iPad) to stay in touch with her friends from Kimball and other family members. But Della Mae's greatest joy in life was spending time with her 2 daughters and their families, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

Della Mae will be deeply missed for her kind loving nature, her loyalty to friends and family, and her radiant smile that could light up a room. Della Mae passed away peacefully at her home in Collinsville, Oklahoma, on July 18, 2019, after a short illness (Non Hodgkin Lymphoma.) She was surrounded by all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at the time of her passing.

Her last words have given us comfort and joy: "I'm going to a beautiful place; the angels are coming." She was not afraid; her faith carried her through. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

She is survived by her son Gary Mader of Phoenix, Arizona; daughters Pamela Mader DelCampo (Christopher) Denver, Colorado, and Jodie Mader Kinney (John) of Collinsville, Oklahoma; grandchildren Olivia Delcampo Hermansson (Dennis), Lauren Delcampo Barnett (David), Ryan Martin (Alisha) Zane Mader (Emily) and Josh Martin (Amanda); step-grandchildren Vickie Turner, and Sandy Marcellus (Mark); and great-grandchildren Paige, Khodie and Coldin Martin, Lillian Mae Barnett, Dashel and Blaze Martin.

She was preceded in death by James W. Mader (spouse), John Adels (father), Helen Adels (mother), Doug Mader (son), and Harold Adels (brother).
