Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Save yourself some good hard cash by participating in the Scrap Tire CleanUp.
The normal rates for tire disposal at the Kimball Landfill are: car tires-$6.00 each, truck tire-$13.00 per tire and to dispose of a tractor tire it will cost you a hefty $45.00.
But from August 5th through August 17th bring your tires to the City of Kimball Landfill and there will be no charge; it's free.
Come early because tires are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and they will only accept a total of 150 tons of tires, but that is a lot of tires and the landfill does not anticipate having over 150 tons of tires delivered to them.
There are only a few requirements, which include only open to Kimball County residents and you must have proof.
Unfortunately no commercial tire hauler or tire businesses are eligible for the program.
The landfill will not accept any tires with rims and you must be able to unload the tires yourself and have a count of your tires.
If you are really cleaning up your place and you have more than 20 tires, call the landfill to make sure and make arrangements for the large load. Call 308-235-3639.
The Kimball Landfill is open 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This program is brought to you by the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy.
