Large Turnout For TeamMates Scramble

Another very successful golf happening occurred this past weekend at the Four Winds Golf Course with 18 four-person scramble teams turning out for the annual TeamMates Tournament.

Once again, the weather was very nice and the golfers enjoyed the day.

The lady in charge, chairperson Stephanie Kitchens, said, "I appreciate very much the support of all the golfers who took part in this year's event. We tied the best turnout ever with the 18 teams and 72 golfers."

Stephanie got help from family members, too, with her dad and mom doing the cooking of the burgers and hotdogs served prior to the tee-off.

The winning team left no doubt as they finished 6 strokes ahead of the second place team. This year's champions were the team of Kenny and Jordan Greenwood, Henry Heeg and Chuck Christensen shooting a very good round of 56!

Prizes were awarded to the top four team with the winners getting to pick the prize they wanted.

The second place team included Andrew McCloud, Izaac Reuter, Donny Petersen and Jeff Paxton with their round of 62.

The third place team of Dillon Wise, Jess Heide, Jacob Walker and Gavin Howell shot 63.

Fourth place went to the team of Tom and Doug Southard, Pat O'Brien and Don Trofholz by virtue of the scorecard playoff.

Proceeds from the entry fees paid will go toward benefitting the local chapter to TeamMates, an organization started by Nebraska former coach Tom Osborne and his wife, Nancy, to help youngsters through mentoring by volunteers.
