New Kimball County Highway Superintendent To Start July 1

Kimball County Highway Superintendent Dave Hottell is set to resign as of July 1, with Randy Bymer as the replacement.

Hottell is ready for less mental stress in the workplace, he told the Kimball County Commissioners in the their last regular board meeting June 18.

"I am ready to be back in a grader. The superintend job puts a lot of mental stress on a guy and I am ready to be an operator once again," Hottell said.

Hottell is incredibly grateful for the amount of support the Board of Commissioners has offered him throughout his six years as the Superintend.

Hottell also thanked the Commissioners for all they have done for the county as well as the road department and reminded everyone how much of a pleasure it was to work with them.

Bymer, who has worked for the road department for over 30 years, is excited and ready but somewhat nervous for the career move.

"I am qualified for the position, I have the necessary certifications but I'm not perfect there will still be many new things to learn," said Bymer.

"It will be a new change from driving truck for so long, I have been in a truck about fifty-percent of the time I have been here and in a grader for about the other half so it will be different."

"I want the residents of the county to feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns and I will do my best to answer.
