Kimball Takes Sixth Playing With The Big Schools At Scottsbluff

Kimball's Dillon Wise played himself into a three-way playoff for individual top honors at the Scottsbluff Country Club Course. Wise, along with Ethan Cates of Cheyenne Central and Blake Danni of Cheyenne East.
All shot 75 to end in a three-way tie for medalists, forcing playoff holes. Dillon parred the first playoff hole, but par was not good as the two Cheyenne golfers both birdied, forcing more playoff holes. Both Cheyenne golfers then birdied the second hole as well, but it got even better as Danni eagled the third playoff hole to win.
Dillon ended up third with a solid day of golf on a very tough course, played on a very cold and wet day!
North Platte won top team honors shooting 317 followed by Cheyenne East with 319, Cheyenne Central 335, Scottsbluff 347, Alliance 350, Kimball 352, Gering 353, Morrill 375, Mitchell 376, Sidney 381, Chadron 411, and Ogallala 431.
A sixth place team finished against all of these larger schools was not bad for the Kimball team. It took a score of 80 to finish in the top ten medal group as an individual.
Wise was Kimball's lone medal winner on this day as Zane Anthony shot 90, Jess Sirren 93, Izaac Reuter 94 and Cole Henton 97.
Of interest, Tristen Zitek of Pine Bluffs, who plays lots of golf on the Four Winds Course, plays for the Cheyenne East team and finished fifth with his round of 78.
A busy week for the Kimball golfers as they were to play at Bridgeport yesterday (Wednesday), and will be at Chase Country for the SPVA tournament tomorrow (Friday) and Bayard Saturday for the Western Trails Conference Tournament. On May 2. the Horns will host the Kimball Invitational.
