Kimball Golfers Win At Morrill

The Kimball High boys golf team got its first win of the season in capturing the team title at the Morrill Invitational Tournament this past week.

The Longhorns scored 338 to win by 12 points over the second place hometown Morrill Lions, who finished with 350.

The rest of the field saw Mitchell at 362, Bridgeport 370, Chadron 371, Scottsbluff JV 402, Hemingford 430, Bayard 434, Crawford 481 and Hay Springs 500.

Trevor Berry of Chadron was the individual champion with his medalist round of 74, edging past Drake DeMasters of Bridgeport, who was runnerup with 75.

Kimball’s Zane Anthony was 3rd with 81, Dillion Wise 5th with 82 and Izaac Reuter 6th with 85, giving Kimball three golfers in the top 10 medal group.

Jess Sirren finished just out of the top ten with a good round of 91, which was 11th, and Cole Henton was 18th with his round of 96.
