Nolting 'Goes For It,' Resignation Official

As of last Tuesday, April 16, Kimball County Commissioner Timothy Nolting's resignation became official from the Board of Commissioners.

"My work in public service through the county has been one of the biggest highlights of my career. It came time to change my priorities and make more time for family," said Nolting.

As an outgoing "last chance," as some might say, Commissioner Brandon Mossberg had one final chance to give Notlting a small dose of his own medicine in a sort of dry sense of humor.

At Mossberg's first meeting as a commissioner Jan. 8, Nolting made many motion acton items, while Mossberg "seconded' the motions. Notling finally said "go for it" to Mossberg for a small push to get him in the swing of things.

Four months later, during the April 16 regular meeting and on the last action item listed on the agenda, Mossberg waited patiently for silence to say "go for it." Those in the room broke out in laughter, remembering first meeting of the 2019 calendar year.

Many smiles and memories filled the meeting room that morning as the employees of Kimball County and public said their well wishes and thank yous to Nolting for the past six years of his service to Kimball County.

With the vacancy, applicants are being accepted though May 6. The county's help wanted ad to fill the position can be found in the Observer classifieds on Page B3.

Applicants must be registered voters and residents of Kimball County. After the close of the application deadline, interviews of the selected candidates will be conducted in a public meeting by Dave Wilson County Attorney, Cathy Sibal County Clerk and Cindy Rahmig County Treasurer on Friday, May 10.

Questions about the opportunity should be directed to Sibal at 308-235-2241.
