Last May 2018, third grade Mary Lynch Elementary students join Pheasants Forever along with a Nebraska wildlife biologist for a pollinator project.
Quickly approaching is the Mile High chapter of Pheasants Forever Banquet this Saturday, March 23.
Over the past few weeks of devastating and destructive weather throughout the midwest, the Nebraska Pheasants Forever is one of the many organizations that has stepped up to support the state during this difficult time.
One cause is the Hats for Habitat Relief Fund. Nebraska Pheasants Forever linked this description for the hat fund, along with a red and white Pheasants Forever ball cap with Nebraska embroidered on the side, to their chapter website:
– Dedicated farmers, ranchers, and land stewards provide public benefits, such as wildlife habitat, clean air, water quality, and public outdoor recreation. With you support Pheasants Forever will give back to those in desperate need of disaster relief assistance to help restore the land with conservation practices. With your $30 donation to Pheasants Forever in support of the disaster relief, you will receive this hat.
Meanwhile, on the state and national level, Pheasants Forever has raised and donated millions of dollars to different programs throughout the country.
Nebraska Pheasants Forever has spent $2,298,401 ini Kimball and Banner counties since state programs and partnerships began in 1995, according to Mitch Brown of Mile High Pheasants Forever. The local Mile High chapter has spent $441,904 to complete 1,127 projects since 1988.
With so many programs in place, many of the Mile High chapter members find themselves leaning towards youth programs like the No Child Left Indoors Initiative program that is dedicated to working with members, chapters and conservation partners to provide opportunities for youth and their families to share outdoor traditions through different programs, such as Forever Shooting Sports, Youth Habitat Projects like the Pollinator Project with third-graders at Oliver Reservoir in the late spring, and Leadership Development.
The banquet will include an evening full of fun and games. plus silent live auction items that include nearly 15 guns and additional items donated from local businesses.
" We have a Pro Ultra Match 45ACP, customized 1911 hand gun built by Autolok Industries of Kimball, many baskets and different items from Home Town Floral, Shear Touch of Downtown, Alisa Dance Photography, along with other locals to come out and bid on," said Brown.
For those who want to support the Mile High Pheasants Forever chapter this Saturday night, the social hour begins at 5:30 at the Kimball Event Center.
