Kimball Boys Fall At Mitchell, 67-55

The Kimball High boys closed out their regular season with a trip to Mitchell this past Friday evening and suffered a 67-55 loss to the young, but talented, Mitchell club.

The Tigers outscored the Horns, and lead every quarter break. Mitchell jumped out to a 14-4 first quarter lead before Brayden Tyan hit a trey and Brendan Walker scored on a rebound shot to close to 14-9 at quarter's end.

At half time the Tigers led 30-22, and were on top 49-40 going into the final period. The Horns were led in scoring by Beau Hanks with 16 and the 6' 3" junior was also top rebounder with eight, and had one block and four assists. Brayden Tyan had 12 points with two treys. Brendan Walker 11 with one trey, Izaac Reuter had eight points along with six rebounds, Corey Travis six on a pair of treys, and Zane Anthony two. Hanks netted three treys on the night where Kimball was eight of 24 from behind the arc. In other team stats, Kimball shot 22/57 from the field for 39 percent, and were 3/8 at the line for 38 pecent, had 32 rebounds, six steals, 18 assists, 17 turnovers, and 19 fouls. While Kimball was 3/8 at the foul line, Mitchell was 19/24.

The Tigers had four players in double fiigure scoring with freshman Austin Thyne scoring 16, junior Blake Thyne 16, sophomore Jaron Anderson 16, and sophomore Francisco Barrios 11. Sophomore Rylan Aguallo had 7, and junior Keaton Reichert 1. There are no seniors on the Mitchell roster!

Kimball won the boy's JV game 70-58 with a big second half come back. After trailing 37-27 at half time, Kimballlout scored Mitchell 43-21 in the second half for the win. Austin Lulf led Kimball with 18 points with one trey, Brayden Tyan had 13 with one trey, Brendan Walker 12 with two treys, Javon Coyle 11, Sam Cajero seven, Thomas Muldoon six, Cole Henton two, and Christian Allen-Van Pelt two.
