K-Town Takedown Draws 220 Wrestlers

The K-Town Takedown wrapped up this past Sunday afternoon after a long eventful day. Kimball hosted their home meet with 200 wrestlers from the surrounding areas.

Out of the 22 teams in attendance. Kimball Wrestling Club finished third with 207 points with Scottsbluff Wrestling Club in second with 282.5 and Gering Wrestling Club in first with 326 points.

In the 4 and Under 38-39 division, Laivyn Morgan placed third. 4 and Under 40-40 division, Able Kuhns placed second. 4 and Under 45-47 division, Chance Johnson placed second and scored 12 team points, and Zaidyn Fisher placed fourth and scored four team points.

6 and Under 42-44 division, Dakota Rohde placed third and scored nine team points. 6 and Under 45-48 division, Barrett Brown placed fourth and scored four team points. 6 and Under 48-50, Jace Reich placed third and scored nine team points. 6 and Under 49-53 division, Nash Burback placed fourth and scored four team points. 6 and Under 52-53 division, Trajan Johnson placed second and scored 14 team points.

8 and Under 41-45 division, Owen Brown placed fourth and scored four team points. 8 and Under 47-51 division Christian Soto-Young placed first and scored 20 team points. 8 and Under 47-50 division, Mason Brown placed second and scored 13 team points. 8 and Under 52-55 division, Britton Culek placed second and scored 13 team points. 8 and Under 54-56 A division, Logan Paxton placed third and scored nine team points. 8 and Under 62-65 division, Kasyn Snyder placed second and scored 12 team points.

10 and Under 62-67 division, Joseph Coe-Lee placed second and scored 14 team points. 10 and Under 67-70 division, Isaac Rohde placed second and scored 14 team points. 10 and Under 69-73 division, Trey Cook placed third and scored seven team points. 10 and Under 71-78 division Cameron McGinnis placed second and scored 13.5 team points. 10 and Under 99-107 division, Wyatt Cook placed fourth and scored four team points. 10 and Under 110-113 Hunter Lonsdale placed third.

14 and Under 107-110 division, James McGinnis placed first and scored eight team points. 14 and Under 122-129 division, Chris McCloskey placed third. 14 and Under 130-139, Trey Schindler placed first and scored 19.5 team points.

The Tri-State Grapplers finished in eighth placed with 83 team points. Making way for the Grapplers in the 6 and Under 39-40 division, was Ethan Bibbey, who placed first and scored 19 team points. Bibbey also placed first in the 6 and Under 40-44 division and scored 19 team points.

In the 8 and Under 47-51 division, Kason Schindler placed second and scored 14 team points. 8 and Under 62-66 division, Zakary Mossberg placed second and scored 14 team points. Mossberg also placed second in the 8 and Under 67-71 division and scored four team points.

10 and Under 62-67 division, Makenna Thurin placed third and scored nine team points. 10 and Under 68-72 division, Eli Currie placed fourth and scored four team points. 10 and Under 116-122 division, John Waldroupe placed second and in the 12 and Under 69-77 division Tanner Long placed third.

Additionally to the K-Town Takedown, a few Grapplers made the trip back east to Kearney on Sunday, Feb.3, for the Kearney MatCats Tournament.

In the 3rd-4th 60 division, Cable Botha placed first and scored 40 team points. In the 7th -8th 150 division, Ben Alberts placed third and scored 20 team points.

The Banner County Matcats wrestled hard at the neighboring meet, and finished in 10th placed with 58 points. In the 6 and Under 56-58 division, Stockton Soule placed third and scored nine team points. 8 and Under 47-50, Tate Olsen placed first and scored 18 team points. 8 and Under 56-59 division, Austin West placed fourth and scored four team points. 8 and Under 62-66 division, Wilbur Reichenberg placed third and scored seven team points.

10 and Under 74-77 division, Logan Mason placed first and scored 16 team points. 12 and Under 79-81 division, Camrin Mullins placed fourth and scored four team points, and in the 12 and Under 135-150 division, Abigail Vargas placed third.

The next meet is scheduled for this Sunday in Sidney with matches starting at 9 a.m.
