Schools Close, Start Late Due To Winter Weather

As a cold front rolled through Monday evening, Jan. 21, school and office closures or late starts were announced for many in the Nebraska Panhandle on Tuesday morning.

Closures included Banner County schools, Creek Valley, ESU 13 Head Start/Kimball and Sidney, Kimball schools, Leyton, Potter-Dix, Sidney, South Platte and Western Nebraska Community College-Sidney Campus.

Late starts Tuesday included Garden County schools, Goshen County School District 1, Hay Springs, Hemingford and Mitchell.

The snowfall totaled 1.5 inches Tuesday morning.

Snow is in the forecast again today, Thursday, Jan. 24, and tomorrow.

Stay warm and bundle up. This cold weather is no help to those struggling to get over illness.
