Fundraiser Set For Economic Developer Hurt In Motorcycle Crash
The Kimball community is showing its love for Amy Sapp after her motorcycle accident.
A big rally benefit for motorcycle crash victim Amy Sapp, the Kimball economic developer and special projects coordinator, is set for 4:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Kimball Event Center.
And that's not all: An after party will feature Amy's favorite karaoke at Chute #7 in downtown Kimball.
All proceeds from the Groundhog Day festivities will go to Sapp and her family to help with expenses during her recovery from the serious accident. She remains on the mend at Regional West Medical Center facilities in Scottsbluff and awaits a second leg surgery Friday, Jan. 25. Her estimated release date is Feb. 8.
"I'm blessed to be surrounded by wonderful staff here at the rehabilitation center and so grateful to live in such a wonderful and caring community that has really stepped up to help my mom and kids while I'm gone," she said on Facebook.
Benefit dinner tickets (smoked pulled pork is the main course) are $10 if purchased by Jan. 30 or $12 at the door. All-you-can-drink beer is $10 and mixed drinks are $20.
Dinner tickets are available at Chute #7, 3 Schoes office, the event center, Mark Whethem, Christina Culek and Gretchen Spitz.
Other highlights include a silent auction at 8 p.m., live auction at 8:15 p.m., raffle tickets and a traditional cake walk.
Donations also can be made to FirstTier Bank in Kimball.
