Local Woman Arraigned On 4 Felony Charges

Shirrin Sharifpour, 37, of Kimball, was scheduled for an arraignment hearing Tuesday, Dec. 4 in Kimball County District Court before Honorable Judge Derek Weimer on charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence. Respectively, those charges are a Class 2 felony, Class 2 felony, Class 2A felony and Class 4 felony.

She was arrested Oct. 3 in an alleged attempt to kill her mother.

According to the Cheyenne County Attorney's Office, the parties joined stipulated to a competency evaluation report. Once the parties addressed the court, Weimer determined that Sharifpour was mentally incompetent to stand trial and that there was a substantial probability that she will become competent in the foreseeable future.

Sharifpour was committed to the Lincoln Regional Center, another state psychiatric hospital or another state facility for appropriate treatment.

A review hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 5, 2019.
