High honor for Rasgorshek

The 2018 recipient of the Kimball Volunteer Fire Department's prestigious Honorary Fireman Award has been selected.

And the winner is ... Rodney Rasgorshek.

Rasgorshek, of Kimball, has a place on the department's humbled list of honorary firemen.

Others include Dennis Adels, Kerry Bohac, Don Buddecke, Mike Brawner, Jim Childress, Shawn Culek, Steve Demoze, John Finnell, Vince Heeg, John Heidemann, Stan Hillius, Jim Jackson, Robert Kellner, Leo Koester, Loren Kramer, Mark Labate, Jack Lockwood, Ed Maginnis, Art McEntee, Marie McEntee, Dale Moore, Robert Nagel, Jim O'Brien, Rick Olson, John Ott, Bill Ptereson, Dave Rutledge, Dave Schnell, Ron Spicer, Steve Stahla, Larry Sterling, Don Story, Bryan Thacker, John Jr. Thacker, John Sr. Thacker, Russell Thompson, Roger Uglow, Ben Wise, Jimmy Withrow and Robert Yarnell.

The message from the department was this: "In the spirit of giving, we give our thanks to the past and current firemen of Kimball County and the local areas."

Meanwhile, the department has elected officers for the remainder of 2018 and 2019, effective Nov. 27.

They include President Mark Whetham, Vice President Rodney Rasgorshek, Chief Rick Wynne, First Assistant Chief Andrew Bohac, Second Assistant Chief Darin Lukassen, Secretary/Treasurer Jordan Autrey and past Chief Dale Moore.

Also elected to the board of directors were Mark Nelson for a three-year term, Taylor Brown for two years term and Zach Watson for a year.
